Personal project

QuizMeadow.

I made an offline quiz app for a customized experience as I prepare for certifications, with questions that can be created and edited manually, courses organized into units, and a saved history of attempts.

For macOS · Apple Silicon & Intel. Downloads and first-open instructions on GitHub.

Why I made it

I wanted a customized experience as I prepare for certifications. I wanted an agent to turn study material into quizzes, then use a local app to practice, check my understanding and return to questions that needed more work. Organizing a course into categories and units makes it easier to focus on one module or practice across the whole course.

How it works

QuizMeadow reads quizzes from a folder of YAML files. Each question includes its points, answers and explanation, so an agent can create or revise the content without understanding the app itself. The app supports ten question styles, practice and exam modes, and self-assessment against a rubric for written answers.

One detail I wanted to get right was keeping previous attempts useful after editing a quiz. Each saved attempt includes a snapshot of the questions and answers used in that session. I can improve the content without changing what an earlier score meant. Quizzes and results stay on my Mac, and an interrupted session can be resumed.
